Therapy for People Who Want Better Relationships

For when love keeps feeling harder than it should.

Does conflict with your partner make your heart race and leave you feeling panicky? Do you feel the need to fix things immediately, or worry they might leave or even cheat if they seem distant? Trust can be hard, especially if you’ve been hurt before, even if it wasn’t by your current partner. Past experiences can leave tender spots that make opening up feel scary or make it hard to believe things can be different. Together, we can gently explore these feelings, understand where they come from, and help you feel safer and more secure in your relationship.

Whatever is bringing you here, you do not need to have it figured out. Relationships are where so much of our pain lives, and where some of the most meaningful healing can happen too.

When Dating Feels Like Groundhog Day

If you have noticed the same patterns playing out in your dating history, being drawn to people who are emotionally unavailable, over-investing early, ignoring red flags you can see clearly in hindsight, or finding yourself desperate to be chosen rather than simply be yourself, it is natural to feel frustrated or disheartened.

These patterns rarely come from nowhere. They are usually rooted in earlier experiences, in what we learned about love, safety, and our own worth long before we ever went on a first date. Understanding where a pattern began is often the first step to changing it.

Modern dating adds its own layer of difficulty. Dating apps, being ghosted, constant comparison, and the pressure to perform can slowly chip away at confidence and make genuine connection feel fragile. When self-worth becomes tied to matches and messages, it is easy to start dating from a place of anxiety rather than choice.

In therapy, we explore what is really driving these patterns, and what a different kind of connection could feel like.

When You Are Already in a Relationship

Relationship difficulties can take many forms. Perhaps conflict leaves you flooded with anxiety, desperate to fix things immediately before something breaks. Perhaps you worry when your partner seems distant, reading distance as a sign that something is wrong, even when you know it probably is not.

Or perhaps the opposite is true. You find yourself pulling back when things get close. Needing space when your partner wants connection. Longing for intimacy but feeling uneasy when it actually arrives.

These are attachment patterns, and they are incredibly common. Understanding yours, and understanding your partner’s, can change everything about how you relate to each other.

We can also explore other important relationships in your life. Difficulties with parents, estrangement, strained friendships, complicated family dynamics. Every relationship has its own history, and sometimes that history needs a safe space to be looked at honestly.

What Relationship Therapy Can Help With

Relationship and dating therapy is not about being told what to do, who to choose, or whether a relationship is worth saving. It is a space to slow down and understand yourself more clearly in the context of connection.

Together we can explore:

  • The relationship patterns that keep repeating, and where they come from
  • Attachment styles and how yours is showing up in your relationships
  • Emotional triggers and why certain dynamics feel so charged
  • Building clearer boundaries without guilt or fear
  • Moving away from seeking validation and toward genuine connection
  • Making sense of past relationships, including painful or confusing endings
  • Understanding what you actually want and need, not just what feels familiar

As self-understanding grows, so does choice. Relationships that once felt like something happening to you begin to feel like something you can navigate with more awareness, more honesty, and more confidence.
