Why I Get It
Like many people, I understand from past experience how self-belief can waver, and how coping once meant striving for perfection or putting others first. These patterns often take time to recognise, and even longer to gently unpick and rewrite, with compassion and support.
Through my own reflection and personal work, I’ve seen how these experiences leave their mark and how powerful it can be to be met with understanding instead of judgement. That’s what shapes how I work now: offering a steady, supportive space where you don’t have to rush, perform, or have it all figured out.
My Approach
I work with adults, young people and couples, including neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clients, and I aim to create a warm, welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I use an integrative approach, blending psychodynamic, attachment-based, CBT, and person-centred counselling. This means our work together is flexible and focused on what feels right for you.
I’m a registered member of the BACP, making sure therapy is safe, respectful, and tailored to your needs. Whether you want to explore your feelings, gain clarity, or find practical ways to cope, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Let’s Work Together, Your Way
Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all thing. It’s about finding what fits you. No pressure, no ticking boxes, just a space where you can be honest, take your time, and figure things out.
I’ll check in with you regularly so we can tweak things as we go because your journey might surprise you, and that’s okay! Reaching out can feel tough, but you don’t have to have it all figured out. When you’re ready, email me at therapywithvanessabailey@gmail.com and we can have a relaxed chat to see how I can support you.
No rush, no expectations.
